Meet Our Staff

“Hello, my name is Brooke Bowers and I am the Director here at Creative Wonders. I am married to my best friend and have 3 beautiful children. Creative Wonders has been my home away from home to me since I was real young. So when the opportunity came open for me to run it, I jumped on it. I have worked not only in childcare but in a psychiatric hospital for children as well. I have several certifications pertaining to childcare including my CDA. I also major in Psychology for Crisis Counseling and a minor in Children and Adolescent Development. I am continuing my education and currently pursuing my MBA. I enjoy watching this local childcare center grow and meet the needs of the community.”

“Hello, my name is Bethany Sloat and I am the Program Manager here at CWLC. I have been a part of this team for a few years now and it is truly my second home. Working with children has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I have my Bachelor’s Degree from Bowie State University in Child Studies. I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and I have been in VA for the past 8 years. I have a two year old little girl that is truly my pride and joy. I consider myself blessed to have found such a wonderful center to work for and have my daughter attend.”

“Hello, my name is Jenni Brown and I am the Office Manager here at Creative Wonders. I am married and have a two year old little boy who keeps me on my toes. I love spending time on our family farm and pursuing my hobby in photography. Before joining the CWLC team I was watching children out of my home for about 7 years and even though I enjoyed it I needed a change. I am very happy with the change I chose and the opportunity to be working in a different aspect of child care. I love working with children and watching them grow. And I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me here.”

“Hello, my name is Wayne Howard and I am the lead cook here at CWLC! I am also known as Mr. Wayne, or my famous phrase with the kids, “Mr. Wayne is in the house!”. I am a man of many titles, cook, maintenance (don’t trust my carpentry), and gardener. One of my favorite things about this job is that I get the opportunity to figure out what the kids like and do not like to eat and I can then play around with the food and see what they will try. Cooking for kids is like picking a wild card, you never know what you are going to get. Some may think that cooking for children is easy, but I am here to tell you that it is not! It’s more than challenge but completely worth it in the end. You may also see me driving one of the vans (a.k.a. the kids call my van the party van). I will always greet you with a smile!”
