Our Jr. Kindergarten class is the final step in our center’s educational journey, providing students with a comprehensive preparation for their successful transition to school. We follow a newly created Funnydaffer as a guide for our lesson plans. Our program is designed to offer a more traditional school-like structure, with several circle times and educational activities that create a dynamic classroom setting.
We offer a structured, nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. Our teachers conduct two circle times per day, focusing on our core curriculum and weekly thematic units. Students also have the opportunity to explore their creativity through free art and express themselves through manipulative and free dance. Guided activities are conducted daily under the supervision of our certified teachers, which focus on essential skills such as letter recognition, handwriting, one-to-one correspondence, patterns, telling time, math, and counting.
Our students also learn to follow multi-step directions, write short sentences, and work on sight words, spelling, grammar, Spanish, addition, subtraction, reading, and cognitive skills. We strive to give our children the best possible foundation for their education and to prepare them for the challenges they will face in school. Our teachers also promote literacy and language skills through creative storytelling, cognitive activities, vocabulary expansion, and alphabet knowledge, in an effort to expand our students’ oral language skills before they head off to school.
