Office Staff

HEW-1-2Hello, my name is Mrs. Pam and I am the Director here at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I started my career in childcare over 25 years ago, and have managed and ran as many as 5 daycare centers, at one time, over the course of my career. I have also owned several daycare facilities, of my own. Throughout my career I have consulted with many preschools and helped them to become stronger learning centers as a result of my mentoring. I love being the Director of a daycare voted Best in the Valley and I look forward to watching your children learn under the guidance of myself and the rest of our amazing teaching staff.

15-1-25Hi, my name is Mrs. Amber, and I am a (part time) Office Assistant here at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I also help organize and supervise our center’s Summer Camp Program. I started working with this center in 2011, but I have worked in the childcare field since 2003. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I also have my Associates Degree in Arts with a Teacher Education Specialization from Blue Ridge Community College. Currently, I am attending Mary Baldwin College, full time, where I am working towards earning my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (PK-6) and will be obtaining my teaching license. I have 2 beautiful daughters, that I’m extremely proud of, Caydence and Tarynn. We live in the Stuarts Draft area and love every minute of it. When I’m not working here, I work with the Augusta County School’s: Preschool Program. I’ve always wanted to make a difference in a child’s life and I enjoy watching a child progress through their learning. It brings a smile to my face, when I can see the children I’m teaching smile after they’ve accomplished something we’ve been learning. During what little free time I do have, I enjoy spending time with my huge family, watching movies, participating in cheerleading with my girls, reading and camping.

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Danelle, I am the Assistant Director and Lead Teacher in the Head Start Room and am CPR and First Aid certified.  I am a lifelong resident of Augusta County.  I am married to my high school sweet heart.  We have one child, a German Shepherd and a cat.  I graduated with a Bachelor’s from Mary Baldwin in 2006 and I am currently attending grad school there.  I am interested in childcare because I have always enjoyed children and want to make an impact in their lives.  My picture will be added soon!

Infant Room

15-1-30Hello, my name is Ms. Sarah.  I am the Program Supervisor and a Lead Teacher in the Infant Room at Creative Wonders. I started working here in 2013, and since being hired, have worked with the School-Age students as well as in the Two’s Program, but it was the babies that truly stole my heart. I love being a teacher with this age group! Working with children is something I have always wanted to do and I’m so excited to be here with my students every day! I enjoy watching our infants grow and change, what seems like, on a daily basis. I fell in love with teaching when I was an Aide at Stuarts Draft Elementary School and was then blessed with the opportunity to work here. Once I met the kids and families here I just knew I wanted to make teaching preschoolers my career. I enjoy interacting with the children and being silly. My hope is to spread a little sunshine and a lot of smiles throughout each child’s day and to be an active participant in our Infant Program’s student development.

15-1-23Hi, my name is Mrs. Trena and I am a Lead Teacher here at CWLC. I work in both the Infant and Toddler classrooms and I am also a Staff Supervisor. I have worked at Creative Wonders since 2012 and I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I recently completed the CDA course at James Madison University.  I have spent the last 20+ years home schooling my seven children and I teach at my church’s local Christian school. I enjoy the diversity and challenges that come with teaching, not only my children when they were younger, but the youth at my church along with the younger students enrolled here. Each age group is so developmentally different and each child has a personality all their own. I truly love getting to know each student, and their family, that is under my care. I have always been a caregiver and I can’t see myself doing anything else. I love watching the children in each of our classes grow and learn everyday. I’m a positive, fun-loving person and try to have a good time whenever possible. I’m also a prankster and I love to play jokes on people, which keeps the staff here on their toes. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my large family and all of our friends. I’m also a proud “Nina” so I like spend my spare time spoiling my beautiful Grand-babies whenever possible too!

Early Head Start Room

15-1-11Hello, my name is Mr. Tyler and I am a Lead Teacher and Program Supervisor in the Early Head Start Program here. I am CPR and First Aid Certified.  I started working in childcare in 2014 and began working at CWLC in 2015. I grew up on a farm in Middlebrook, VA and moved to the Stuarts Draft area when I was in middle school. I’m a 2012 graduate of Riverheads High School and when I’m not working I raise cattle, lamb and hogs. I showed livestock from the time I was 8 years old until I turned 17 and I’m still very much involved in 4H and FFA. I volunteer at Riverheads Elementary School, on my days off, and I help coach track too. Being a teacher is something I have always wanted to do, so working in childcare was my way of gaining experience, however I have fallen in love with early childhood education and now it’s my dream to open a learning center of my own once I’ve gained my college degree.  I love the outdoors- so in my spare time I enjoy farming, riding 4 wheelers, fishing and going to the beach or a nearby lake. I also enjoy 4X4 trail riding and of course working cattle and sheep for livestock shows.

I moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2014 to be closer to my family and couldn’t be happier with my decision- I love it here! Teaching has always felt like a second nature to me because when I was younger I would help my mom, as she taught in various classroom settings, so I guess you could say I have followed in her footsteps. I still love teaching to this day and can’t think of anything else I’d rather do. In my free time I enjoy going on cruises and traveling. 14-1-4Hello, my name is Ms. Lauren and I am a Substitute Teacher here at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I currently work as an Instructional Assistant with the Augusta County School System when I’m not teaching here, and have been with this center since 2014. I am CPR and First Aid certified and I have my Bachelors Degree in Family and Consumer Science from Bridgewater College. I also have my Masters Degree of Arts in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University. I grew up in the area, with my large family, and began my career babysitting at a young age. I have also helped in my church’s nursery as well as during Vacation Bible School. I have been a certified Life Guard since the early 2000s and I have worked at an area wellness center since 2005. There I taught swim lessons, helped with childcare and supervised birthday parties. I have also worked within the Harrisonburg City School System and taught for a year in an Inner City Middle School in Richmond, VA. I have enjoyed all of my past teaching experiences and truly love getting to know all our students and families here. In my spare time I enjoy swimming, going to the beach, listening to music and watching movies. I also try to spend as much time as I can with my family and friends.

15-1-15Hi, my name is Mrs. Kathy. I am a Substitute Teacher at CWLC, and have been with this center since 2011. I have been married to my “Knight in Shining Armor” since 1981 and we have 3 children. We also have 5 granddaughters and one grandson we are truly in love with! We are also the proud foster parents of 2 incredible kids. I am retired from American Safety Razor after 31 years of Service and currently work at Stuarts Draft Elementary School as a Paraprofessional to Exceptional Learners. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I also have my CDA. I have worked at several centers here in the valley and I have also subbed at various Elementary schools within my community. I love all my “kids” whether it be my own, my grandkids or my students. I know in my heart, teaching is what God wants me to do, and I know I can make a difference in the lives of the children I teach. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to teach children. I just hope I can touch as many lives, as have touched mine.

15-1-24Hello, my name is Ms. Elly and I am a Substitute Teacher at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I have been with the center since 2013, and I work here during the Summer months and when the college I attend takes Summer break. I was born and raised in Waynesboro, VA with my older sister, Meg and I graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 2012. I am currently enrolled at Radford University, where I am studying Speech Pathology and Audiology and I am planning to graduate in 2016. I enjoy being able to come to work and have fun with my students. I’m just a big kid, who likes to have fun, so I’m always down on their level, doing whatever activity I have to, to make sure they are having a good time too. My goal is to teach children that learning (and school) is something to truly enjoy. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors and traveling. I also enjoy going to as many local concerts as I can and I’m an amateur photographer. I consider myself a crafty person too- so I love finding “new to me” treasures at yard sales and remaking them into something amazing that I can hopefully use for years to come.

HEW-1-7Hi, my name is Ms. Natalya and I am a Substitute Teacher here at CWLC. I started with the center in 2014 with a year of experience already under my belt. I am certified in CPR, First Aid and I am a trained Lifeguard. I am also WSI certified, so I teach swim lessons during the summer months too. I’m currently attending James Madison University, where I am studying Speech Pathology and I plan to graduate in 2018. I have 2 younger brothers, so growing up I always enjoyed being able to help care for them as most “big sisters” do. I guess you could say I was born to be a caregiver. I love teaching children new things, especially during the summer months when I’m able to have my swim lessons. Seeing a child accomplish something they’ve worked so hard on is an absolute joy for me. In my spare time I enjoy soccer, horseback riding, painting and drawing. I also try to spend as much time as I can with my family and friends.

Kitchen

15-1-17Hello, my name is Mrs. Erica, and I am the cook here at CWLC. I started with the center in 2014, but have worked within the childcare field since 2008. I am a busy mother to my 4 beautiful children and we live locally in Waynesboro, VA. I fell in love with helping young children when I worked at a Head Start Program in Ohio, and once I became a mother, I knew there was no greater joy than watching children learn, grow and interact with one another. Singing and dramatic arts are passions of mine so I enjoy sharing those kind of activities with my students here. My hope is to take some of my joy and happiness for teaching and turn it into an excitement for learning for every student I come in contact with.
