We take pride in having the best people in the child care business working together for your child’s development!
Hello, my name is Mrs. Pam. I am the Director here at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I started my career in childcare over 25 years ago, and have managed and ran as many as 5 daycare centers, at one time, over the course of my career. I have also owned several daycare facilities, of my own. I have consulted with many preschools and helped them to become stronger learning centers as a result of my mentoring. I am very excited to be the Director of the daycare voted Best in the Valley and I look forward to watching your children grow and learn under the guidance of myself, and the rest of our amazing teaching staff.
Hi, my name is Ms. Ginia, and I am the Assistant Director at CWLC. I have worked here since 2004, but I started working in childcare centers in 1998. I also babysat for family and friends for many years prior to that. I have worked in every classroom within the center, but the majority of my time here was spent as the Lead Teacher in the Two’s Room. I was also the Staff Supervisor for a few years before deciding to take on the position as the center’s Assistant Director. I am CPR as well as First Aid certified and I’m working towards getting my CDA certification from James Madison University. I love being able to see every child, in every class, throughout the day now, even though I miss the daily interactions that come along with teaching 2yr. olds. I’m truly a big kid at heart, so I’ve always enjoyed getting down on a child’s level and talking to them. I enjoy hearing what they have to say, no matter how big or small it is- the things children say, never cease to amaze me or put a smile on my face. My goal here is to make a positive difference in every child’s life that attends our fabulous center. Art is a passion of mine, so I like to draw and paint in my free time. I love listening to music, dancing and watching movies too. I try to spend as much spare time as I can with my family, and soon to be Husband, and I enjoy being outdoors with my dogs.
Hi, my name is Mrs. Amber, and I am the part time Office Assistant here at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I started working with this center in 2011, but I have worked in the childcare field since 2003. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I also have my Associates Degree in Arts with a Teacher Education Specialization from Blue Ridge Community College. Currently, I am attending Mary Baldwin College, full time, where I am working towards earning my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (PK-6) and obtaining my teaching license. I have been married to my High School Sweetheart for over 10 years, and we have 2 beautiful daughters, Caydence and Tarynn. We live in Stuarts Draft, VA and when I’m not here at the center, I work with the Augusta County School’s Preschool Program. I’ve always wanted to make a difference in a child’s life, and I enjoy watching a child progress through learning. It brings a smile to my face, when I can see the children I’m teaching smile after they finally accomplished something we have been learning. During what little free time I do have, I enjoy spending time with my huge family, watching movies with my girls, reading and camping.
Hello, my name is Mrs. Betty. I am the Office Manager here at CWLC, and have been with the center since 2011. I have lived in Stuarts Draft since 1988 with my husband Russell and my two beautiful daughters, Stacey and Chelsey. I am also the proud Nan of two beautiful grandchildren, Natalie and Coley. I am the “Resident Grandma” here at CWLC and I love to spoil your children daily! I enjoy spending my down time with my family and I try to be outdoors as much as possible. I enjoy traveling and getting to meet new people. I treat all of our wonderful families here as if they were my own, and I enjoy getting to interact with all of them on a daily basis.
Hi, my name is Ms. Sarah. I am the Program Supervisor and a Lead Teacher in the Infant Room at Creative Wonders. I started working here in 2013, and since being hired, have worked in the school-age program as well as with the 2 year olds, but the babies have truly stolen my heart. I love being a teacher with this age group! Working with children is something I have always wanted to do, and I’m so excited to be here. I enjoy spending my days with our infants and being able to watch them grow and change. I fell in love with teaching when I was an Aide at Stuarts Draft Elementary School and was then blessed with the opportunity to work here. Once I met the kids, families, and staff, I just knew I wanted to make teaching my career. I enjoy interacting with the children and just being silly. My hope is to spread a little sunshine and a lot of smiles throughout each child’s day and to be an active participant in our Infant Program’s student development.
Hi, my name is Mrs. Jennifer, and I am a Lead Teacher in the Infant Room at CWLC. I began working at Creative Wonders in 2014, but I have been working in childcare since 2007. I married my High School Sweetheart in 2000, and together we have 3 amazing sons. I share my home, and micro farm, with my family in the Stuarts Draft area, along with 7 chickens, 2 cows and 3 dogs. I’ve always loved interacting with children. I enjoy being able to teach them something, and watch how they use that new knowledge in their own way. The best feeling in the world, is running into a former student, and having them remember you- seeing them smile at you, and being able to see how much they have grown. It warms my heart to know I, in some way, helped them become that person. In my downtime, I enjoy being able to do things with my family- especially outdoors. I also like to do gardening, read, and I love watching my boys play sports.
Hi, my name is Mrs. Erica, and I am the Program Supervisor and a Lead Teacher in the Toddler Classroom here at CWLC. I started with the center in 2014, but have worked within the childcare field since 2008. I am a busy mother of four beautiful children, who lives locally with my family. I fell in love with helping young children when I worked at a Head Start Program, and then once I became a mother- I knew there was no greater joy than watching children learn, grow and interact with one another. Singing and dramatic arts are my specialty and I enjoy sharing my passion with the Toddlers here. My hope is to pass some of my joy and happiness for teaching into excitement for learning to every student I come in contact with.
Hello, my name is Mrs. Doris and I am a Lead Teacher in the Toddler Room at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I have been a caregiver for most of my life, starting out as a CNA for many years, caring for elderly people in need. Now I am enjoying being able to work with the younger generation here at CWLC. I have been with this center since 2012 and I absolutely love all the children, and families I have met. As I stated above, I have my CNA License, but I also have my Bachelor’s Degree. I am First Aid and CPR Certified as well. I am an animal lover, who enjoys spending her free time with her husband, and traveling on the East Coast when time allows.
Hi, my name is Mrs. Trena. I am a Lead Teacher in the Toddler Room, as well as the center’s Supervisor in the evenings. I have worked at Creative Wonders since 2012, and I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I am also currently enrolled in the CDA course at James Madison University, and hope to be finished in 2015. I have spent the last 20+ years home schooling my seven children, and I also teach at my church’s local Christian school. I enjoy the diversity and challenges that come with teaching, not only my children when they were younger, but the youth at my church along with the younger children enrolled here. Each age group is so developmentally different, and each child has a personality all their own. I truly love getting to know each student, and family that is under my care. I have always been a caregiver and I can’t see myself doing anything else. I love watching the children in each of our classes grow and learn everyday. I’m a positive, fun-loving person and try to have a good time whenever possible. I’m also a prankster and I LOVE to play jokes on people, which keeps the staff here on their toes. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and spoiling with my beautiful Grandbabies.
Hi, my name is Ms. Amanda, and I am an Assistant Teacher in the Toddler Room here at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I’m also a Substitute Teacher in other classrooms here, when needed. I come from a large family, I’m number 5 in a family of 7 children, and I also work part-time at a local outdoors store. I was born and raised in the Stuarts Draft area and participated in Home Schooling with my Mom. Growing up in a big family, there were, naturally, always kids around, so I’ve always enjoyed interacting with children of all different ages. Now that my Nieces and Nephews are here in this world- I’m hooked. I love watching children grow and the interactions they have with the people and the other children around them. Creative Wonders feels like home to me, and I only hope I can make the families I come in contact with feel like they are at home too.
Hi, my name is Ms. Lauren. I am the Program Supervisor and a Lead Teacher with our Two’s Program. I have been with Creative Wonders since 2014. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I have my Bachelors Degree in Family and Consumer Science from Bridgewater College. I also have my Masters Degree of Arts in Early Childhood Education from James Madison University. I grew up in the area, with my large family, and began my career babysitting at a very young age. I have also helped in my church’s nursery as well as during Vacation Bible School. I have been a certified Life Guard for the past 13 years, and worked at an area wellness center for the last 10 years, where I taught swim lessons, helped with childcare and surpervised birthday parties. I have been an Instructional Assistant in Harrisonburg City as well as Augusta County Schools, and taught for a year at an Inner City Middle School, in Richmond, VA. I enjoyed all of my past experiences, but I missed the Valley, so I decided to move back home. I’m excited to be here, and I know I can truly touch the lives of the students at CWLC. I have always enjoyed working with children, and seeing their udder excitement for life. I love teaching our 2yr. olds new things, and seeing them enjoy being at school. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, going to the beach, listening to music and watching movies. I also try to spend as much time as I can with my friends and family. I enjoy taking my dogs swimming and hiking as well.

I am also CPR, First Aid and MAT certified, and I’m currently enrolled in the CDA course at James Madison University. I’m from Lexington, VA where I still live with my son, Caleb. I began teaching children in Sunday school and loved it- those experiences motivated me to make childcare my career and I’ve loved it ever since. My goal here to be a positive influence in the lives of the children under my care. I enjoy watching them grow and learn new things every day. In my free time, I enjoy reading, especially historical fiction stories, and doing puzzles. I also like to knit and make crafts. Cooking and baking are also passions of mine.

Hi, my name is Mrs. Kyrstin and I am a Lead Teacher in our Preschool program. I have worked in a childcare setting since 2000, and have been with Creative Wonders since 2006. I am happily married, and have 3 beautiful children. I grew up around a big family, and started out my career just babysitting. Once I had my daughter, and I saw all the joy and excitement she had whenever she learned something new, I knew I had to expand my gift for teaching and help other children in my community grow. I am CPR, First Aid and MAT certified and I love each of my students as if they were my own. I’m a very energetic and outgoing person, but I enjoy spending my spare time with my family, cooking- mainly (not always healthy, but extremely yummy) treats. I love doing outdoor activities, and I’m a huge animal lover.
Hi, my name is Mr. Jonathan and I am also a Lead Teacher in our Preschool program here at Creative Wonders. I am currently enrolled in the CDA course at James Madison University, and hope to complete it in 2015. I have worked in the nursery at my church, since 2010, in fact that’s what helped me decide that I wanted to teach preschool children as my profession. I’ve been working in childcare centers in the valley since 2012 and started working at Creative Wonders in 2014. Children give me joy. I truly love coming to work and getting to know each child as an individual. Every day poses a different challenge, and I enjoy getting to help the kids, under my care, grow developmentally with each new task I teach them. I have fun interacting with my students and helping them to grow into the amazing young adults I know they can be. In my spare time, I love to play sports and hang out with my family and friends.

I am CPR, First Aid and MAT certified, as well as trained and able to teach the “Blueprint Curriculum” in my classroom. I am a mother to 3 perfect little angels and I love Jesus. I feel like teaching children is an incredibly rewarding career and being able to watch them grow and learn is one of the best gifts God could have blessed me with. I know how much of an impact a great teacher can have on a child’s life, and my only hope is that I can be there to provide a positive and enthusiastic environment for each child under my care. I truly enjoy spending my days at CWLC and my plan is to add even more sunshine, peace and positivity into a learning center that’s already a shining star in our community. In my free time, I raise my 3 children to be the best possible people they can be and I work on getting to know our Heavenly Father even more. I pride myself on my close relationship with God, and the incredible bond I have with not only my children, but my students as well.

Hi, my name is Ms. Jessica, and I am a Lead Teacher in the School Age Program. I have been with Creative Wonders since 2013 and I am currently enrolled in Blue Ridge Community College getting my Associates Degree in Elementary Education. Once I am finished at BRCC, I’m planning to transfer to Old Dominion University where I will get my Masters in Elementary Education, and hopefully a job with the Augusta County School system. I started my career with a mentorship at Stuarts Draft Elementary where I fell in love with the Kindergarteners and truly bonded with the students in my class. I am happy to be a part of the School Age Program here, and have enjoyed building relationships with all of my students. I enjoy getting to know each of them, and their individual personalities. It’s my pleasure to work with children from all over the area, and I’m grateful to the parents who have allowed me the chance to make a positive difference in lives of their children. In my spare time I love being lazy with my boyfriend, reading novels, singing, and of course spending time with my friends and family.
Hi, my name is Mr. Wil and I am also a Lead Teacher in the School Age Program. I have been with Creative Wonders Learning Center since 2014 and I am First Aid trained as well as CPR Certified. I have worked with children of different backgrounds at the Boys and Girls Club as well as Mentored foster children at People Places. I am trained to understand children who have dealt with traumatic experiences, and I enjoy being able to help them learn to continuously enjoy life even though something bad has happened to them. I am the oldest of 5 children, and growing up, I had to help take care of all my younger siblings- so I guess you could say I was born to be a caregiver. With those life experiences under my belt, I truly believed teaching was a natural calling- and I enjoy every second of my time here with my students. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, jam-skating and running. I also love playing video games, and creating new experiences!
Hi, my name is Ms. Nicole. I am a Lead Teacher and the “Floater” at CWLC. I have worked here since 2012, and since being hired, I have worked within every classroom here at the center. I am currently the go to teacher that covers whenever another Lead Teacher has a day off. I am CPR as well as First Aid certified. I also have my black belt in Karate. I am currently enrolled in college and plan on finishing school soon so that I can become a Licensed Event Planner. I started out my career simply babysitting for family and friends in 2007, but I have always loved working with children. Kids just know how to bring a smile to my face, and I enjoy getting to know all of the students, along with their families here. In my free time, I enjoy being active, especially outdoors. I like hiking, camping and (of course) Karate. I also love to sing and have participated in Choir not only in High School, but in College as well. I spend a lot of time making arts and crafts, and I love being able to spend time with my family and friends whenever possible too.
Hello, my name is Mrs. Kathy. I am a Substitute Teacher at CWLC, and have been with this center since 2011. I have been married to my “Knight in Shining Armor” since 1981 and we have 3 grown children. We also have 4 granddaughters, one grandson and another granddaughter on the way! We are also the proud foster parents of 2 incredible kids. I am retired from American Safety Razor after 31 years of Service and currently work at Stuarts Draft Elementary as a Paraprofessional to Exceptional Learners. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I also have my CDA. I have worked at several centers in the valley and I have also subbed at various Elementary schools in my community. I love all my “kids” whether it be my own, my grandkids or my students. I know in my heart, teaching is what God wants me to do, and I know I can make a difference in the lives of the children I teach. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to teach children. I just hope I can touch as many lives, as has touched mine.
Hi, my name is Ms. Elly and I am a Substitute Teacher at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I have been with the center since 2013, and I work here during the Summer months and when the college I attend takes holiday breaks. I was born and raised in Waynesboro, VA with my older sister, Meg. I graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 2012, and I am currently enrolled at Radford University, where I am studying Speech Pathology and Audiology. I am planning to graduate in 2016. I enjoy being able to come to work and have fun with my students. I’m just a big kid, who likes to have fun, so I’m down on their level, doing whatever activity I have to, to make sure they are having a good time too. My goal is to teach children that learning (and school) are something to truly enjoy. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors. I love going to as many local concerts as I can, and I’m an amateur photographer. I’m also a crafty person- so I love finding “new to me” treasures at yard sales and remaking into something amazing that I can hopefully use for years to come.
Hi, my name is Mr. Wayne and I am the Cook here at Creative Wonders Learning Center. I have 17 years of experience with child care and have been with Creative Wonders since 2013. I was born and raised in Keswick, VA, but now I reside in Stuarts Draft, VA with my family. I am married to a lovely woman, Doresa, and we have 3 amazing children, Jazmin, Jo’el, and Austen. I’m also a U. S. Army (Vietnam) Veteran. I have always been passionate about quality childcare, in fact, my wife and I are currently fostering 1 child who we are in the process of adopting. I am a very proud husband and father. I love camping and sightseeing. As stated above, I am a foster parent and I work with People Places. I love original recipe cooking so I spend a lot of my free time in the kitchen creating new meal ideas to share with all the children here at CWLC. I cook nothing but fresh food and seek to show these children that healthy eating can also be tasty eating. I make it a point (each day) to walk into every classroom and talk to the kids, not just about food and eating healthy, but about their days. Creative Wonders Learning Center is just another piece to my big, faith-filled, family.
